We built the Florida trip around Zane's baptism at Church of the Redeemer, house of worship for the family B. Since we had done the same thing last year for Hope, we did our best to switch things up for the little guy and avoid a massive case of déjà-vu for our guests. We were unlucky in the travel department - a winter "snowpocalypse" cancelled all flights out of NYC that Friday, leaving Alex stuck at the last minute. Godparents Jeff and Ellen were able to make it out on Thursday, though, ahead of the storm, along with Grammy, Pappy, and a one-day-delayed Daddy B.
We had a nice dinner Friday night at Crab & Fin with the New England contingent, a great baptism and after-party on Saturday, and full-family Sunday brunch at Marina Jack. A highlight for me was catching up with old Pine View friends at the party, children in tow. We took the requisite reunion photo on the couch in the family room, a nostalgic place where (says Amber) "many tame parties were held...and and G-rated movies were watched..." Everyone is doing well, and it was nice to relax with the kids and reconnect.
