A Spectacular Sunday for Spectating

B competed in his first cyclocross race of the season on Sunday - a bumpy ride through Kruger's Farm on Sauvie Island. It was Hope's first time seeing Daddy compete, and it's hard to say whether she was able to recognize him flying by in his yellow jersey, helmet and dark glasses (#482). Nevertheless, she got noticeably excited when the bikes went by, cheered, waved, and charmed along the sidelines for the first of many Sundays to come.

It was a gorgeous sunny day in the high 80's, calling for diligent application of sunscreen and the pink hat, plus a good hour in a spot of shade under the tent afterwards. Results included some serious hand blisters, which will have thankfully have time to heal before the next race in two weeks. In the meantime, we will enjoy some more of this glorious late-summer weather, and look ahead to Fall.
