In The Army Now

A week since our last posting! For shame! I will take this opportunity to mention (belatedly) that Hope started doing the "army crawl" in earnest following her Music Together class last Tuesday (7/15 - - or maybe it was the previous week...oh geez, I should know this). She was undoubtedly inspired by some of her older classmates, and thought she'd come home and try it out herself.

Now, we cannot babyproof enough. Everything, it seems, is within her reach, and every last bit of tracked-in leaf, each pair of abandoned shoes, and every dangling toe is of extreme interest. Luckily, Aunt Elisa set us up with a child safety kit well in advance, so we were able to quickly deploy outlet covers, cabinet locks, etc. the moment we realized where this was headed. We'll have a video for you shortly, but it may be blurry as she's so fast.

In other news, Hope attended her first bicycle race at Alpenrose velodrome today. She wore her Tour de France "Maillot Jaune" onesie, and attracted a few fans of her own. She was obviously watching as the cyclists went flying by (very cute). In a few years, she'll be able to enter the Kiddie Kilo - and don't think for a minute she won't win!

More up-to-the-minute reporting coming soon. Love to you all - NB&H

Hey, just went to the velodrome myself for the first time. I'm hooked! See you there some Friday night.
