Busy Summer Bees

Last week was pretty typical of Hope's busy summer. Each day started with coming downstairs early to watch the Tour de France with daddy. And then...

Monday: Playdate with Pooltime at the house with Gretchen and Jordan
Tuesday: Music Together
Wednesday: Lunch with Debbie and Jessica
Thursday: Music Together (last class of the summer, boo hoo!)
Friday: Playdate at the house (embarrassingly slept through) with Christine and Jackson
Saturday: Division/Clinton Street Fair, Early bbq at Debbie & Brett's
Sunday: Tour de France finale, Lunch at Hedge House

Playdates are getting more...physical. As you see, Hope and Jordan engaged in an impromptu (and friendly) wrestling match. Other photos not shown here: hair grab, and ear tweak. Yes, yes, we're discouraging violence...but first we take-a de photo...

The annual Division/Clinton Street fair was a nice way to spend our Saturday afternoon. Around 11am, Division Street was closed to traffic, and there was a parade from 50th street all the way down to 20th. We strolled from our house down to the Xtabay and back (sadly, missing Liz who was said to be in "later"), stopping at the new "Little T American Baker" for a pretzel sandwich and a donut, and discovering a superb selection of baby organics at Mother Nature's on Clinton! We had several Chin sightings along the way - first Henry, Phoebe and Caroline and then Trudy at the bakery with her friend. There was an abundance of strolling families and smiling faces, further demonstrating the relaxed family-friendly nature of our neighborhood, and generally making us feel good about summer in Portland.
