Grandma and Grandpa B's visit featured a wonderful interlude in Oregon wine country, just an hour outside of Portland. On Tuesday, they relocated to
Wine Country Farm, where they were able to take a 2.5 hr horseback ride from the inn through surrounding vineyards, tasting as they went. That night, they splurged on a wonderful dinner featuring local mushrooms at
Joel Palmer House, and woke before dawn for their morning
hot air balloon ride! Although the weather was still cool and cloudy at the start, it did clear by the afternoon of the second day, and stayed sunny for the remainder of their trip.
Coming back to Portland, the real work began: building out a cedar fence at the back of our property, to complete the boundary. While Nata and Grandma tended to Hope (mostly), Bryan and Grandpa got cranking, and finished the whole project in just two days! It looks great, and we all agreed each visit should feature a project of some sort. Next up: fixing the iron fence in our driveway.
Many more pictures were taken, of course, and will be available shortly
on Flickr.
