Last Hurrahs

Week 2 with Gparents B ended with Daddy B's 35th birthday, so the days running up to the 10th were full of special efforts made in his honor. One weeknight, we met Daddy after work at Ken's for *the best pizza* and had a blast sitting by the open window, enjoying a distinctly SE PDX vibe. Another night, our plan to attend one of the Portland Festival Symphony's free outdoor concerts was foiled by a severe blockage in our kitchen plumbing. While B and Gpapa tended to the "workaround," we re-imagined the evening into our own backyard. With classical music playing over the outdoor speakers to recreate the anticipated ambiance, it was actually sort of nice not to have to chase Hope all over Grant Park.

The week ended with some last-minute landscaping, and wistful goodbyes. Not sure when the next visit will be, but with newly retired and otherwise motivated grandparents, it can't be too far away! Cheers - NBH&Z
