Survivor: Six Weeks

This week has been a little tough. B went back to work on Monday, leaving us to wake late much too late, wondering "where did everybody go???" I've been struggling to finish some extra credit for work (I know I know), and as it turns out, baby care *is* easier with two! Hope has been going through another growth spurt, wanting to feed every 1.5-2 hrs instead of 3-4. And in between, she's been demanding attention - - either to be held, be played with, or to be watched while playing independently (but don't touch! i'll cry to be picked up...). What have I done of note on my to-do list? Nuttin'. Happy as always to oblige, but it does leave us both particularly drained come 6pm, when daddy comes home to find us both crashed out on the couch.

Tuesday was fun - - we had a playdate with Christine and Jackson! It was much more exciting than it looks in this photo. :) That was enough for both of us, though, and we opted to wait until daddy came home to fold the laundry.

I don't recall Wednesday.

*This* morning, we woke to a cozy bedroom but frigid rest-of-house. Okay, frigid by Florida standards - - cold by all else. 56 degrees! Turned out the igniter on the furnace was broken, so B worked from home, and it was repaired and warming up again by Noon. But check out the difference in my productivity - - shopped, wrapped, packed AND shipped a big box for Olga's baby shower, wrote some thank you notes, read some of my book, plus we even gave Hope a bath! (Can't smell like cheese on your six week birthday, right?)

Tomorrow is Friday. We may attempt the Providence Portland mommy group. Or, we may bake something to help make breakfasts easier. Or, we may have another Wednesday. But we *will* cut ourselves some slack, because after all, it's just week six!

UPDATE: Friday was another Wednesday. But with more food-related fussiness in the late evening.
