Chillin' in da crib, yo.

This week, Hope seems to have "all of the sudden" discovered her crib-mates - - including "monkey" and "ducky" (she will name them eventually), pictured here. She also really digs her new mobile (Haba Twitterling - - adorable plush birds), although we haven't hung it yet - - we just dangle it, and she gets all mesmerized. It's cool to watch her eyes following the little birds as they bob and dip and spin.

Since Hope has started sleeping in longer stretches, and even slept "through the night" last night (1am-6am), I've decided to try getting her into an earlier bedtime in the crib or bassinet. She has been sleeping well in the Moby or on the couch next to us in the evenings, but it seems about time to get her on (gasp) a more traditional infant sleep schedule. We'll see what works for her.

I'm currently reading The Baby Whisperer (silly name, decent content) and Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child (H.S.H.H.C. for short). The latter is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius. I mean...being read by the other Ziba moms. So between the Whisperer's E.A.S.Y. (eat, active, sleep, you) and "watching [my] baby more than [my] watch," we should manage nicely.

Speaking of Ziba, we took the grand office tour today, and said hi to all our friends... It was good to see everyone. Hope carried on the grand tradition of distracting people from their desk work as she passed through. But we both like to think we brought a little joy to these same folks in so doing. :)
