Although we don't yet have a proper name picked out for our forthcoming baby girl, you're never too young to have a nickname!
Friends will recall that Bryan and I had the perfect name picked out early should our baby be a boy: Taqueez. This name evolved over several conversations involving Erik, Debbie, and Chris W, and is truly the best NFL name a Stanley could have.
Variations have included:
1. Taqueez deBrickashaw (in honor of some other football guy with a silly name)
2. dePriest Taqueez (in honor of Oregon Symphony conductor James dePriest)
and of course the full monty...
3. dePriest Taqueez deBrickashaw Stanley
Taqueez itself is wholely original. (Perhaps we should get it trademarked.) Chris has also suggested we shouldn't leave it entirely behind - - a more feminine spelling of "Taquise" should be considered! But somehow, the moment we found out we were having a girl, we knew we needed a new nickname.
Hence, Zuzu.
We landed on Zuzu fairly quickly, actually. Movie buffs will be right on track - - if George Bailey (aka Bryan) "lassoes stork," it follows that his daughter should be named Zuzu after Bailey's youngest (with "the petals" and all that signifies). Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings. Plus, it's fun to say, and makes a pleasant buzzing sound when spoken directly to the belly.
