Falling for Fall

Don't look now, but it's mid-October...full-on Fall. Of course, that means the start of Cyclocross season, a string of zBaby birthdays (Jordan's pictured here), and an emphasis shift from outdoors to indoors during the week.

Hope is talking up a storm, starting to put together "real" sentences and having more imaginary play with inanimate objects and favorite stuffies. Just today, she was taking a "showerbath" with a set of foam undersea buddies, and spent significant time putting them to sleep individually on the soap dish. Each got a kiss and a bit of a bedtime ditty.

Zane, meanwhile, is growing like a weed. He can roll from back to front, but prefers to work his way around the mat (or his crib) in a circle, barking like a sea lion or screeching like an owl. He's starting to "sit" pretty well, but not quite to the point where I can step away. Hope continues to pester him for smiles, which he gives up freely. They seem to be bonding more and more each day, confirmed by Hope's frequent exclamations, "I love you, Zane!" and "Love you Zane, see you later!" It really warms my heart...more than I could have imagined.
